Phil Hernandez is a distinguished Quality leader with extensive expertise in the life sciences sector, particularly in the Biologics and Cell & Gene Therapy industries, as well as within the Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMO) space. With over a decade of experience, Phil has demonstrated a profound commitment to excellence in clinical and commercial operations, driving high-quality standards and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives.

As the Head of Quality at Andelyn Biosciences, Phil is responsible for the Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Contamination Control departments. Prior to joining Andelyn Biosciences, Phil held various leadership roles at City of Hope, Catalent Pharma Solutions, and Amgen. Working at these organizations has provided Phil with the strong foundation of Quality Management Systems while driving continuous improvement initiatives across all operations.

Phil’s career roadmap began with a solid education in biochemistry and chemistry, culminating in an M.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Saint Joseph and a B.S. in Chemistry from California State University Channel Islands.
